That's hilarious! We were just talking about that!

We still have the old Coleman bags we use as a comforter for guests during the winter season on the inflatable. We were just talking about how good they would be as a pillow top to an air mattress.

Way to funny how you mentioned this..

Our situation of camping is going to be a big learning curve. The 182 gives me options of sleeping arrangements. Queen when we want it and single (twins) as we move around (1 night stay).
For the most part I see the twins being used. Not having to setup and breakdown. If we stay in a spot for a week, then setup.

So that adds to my dilemma of mattress choices.

I see, so far, some sort of air base with foam over like we have at home. Have a feeling we will be making our own sheets to work. I also see velcro somewhere in the mix.. LOL

On a side subject dealing with the bed. I have found sheets are very important. In our 179 if the inside person has to get up for whatever reason it is hard to scoot and move on the sheet over the foam. I bought a set of slick Satan sheets to see if that helps when getting in and out of bed. Slide out of bed.

I hear you and don't think so much of age, yet comfort.

I should have added that at home I have the Select Comfort, but with a piece of Memory foam on top. To both of us it works. Wife likes it firmer so she adds more air then I. The foam takes up the spaces of side sleeping (both of us) and works.

Just the foam for me will be to hard. I'll keep poking around to find a good air (with or without) a foam top. So far the 'toppers' seem thin (maybe 1-2").

Thanks for all the advise folks!

At home my sleep number is 35. After 3 back operations and being fused from L2 down to S1, I can't sleep on Memory Foam. I have gone with the twin AeroBed. I travel with a Cushman scooter and that is all, thus all I need is the lower bunk. The Memory foam wasn't cheep, nor was the AeroBed, but if you can stand a Cabelas air mattress on the floor, then try the AeroBed first. My 10 yr old granddaughter likes her new Memory Foam on her bunk bed! Good Luck.
Happy Traveling,

10" short queen memory foam mattress for us in our 179. We plan to cut it in half lengthwise to make two 30"-wide beds that are reoriented 90 degrees so that we have an aisle between them. We'll have to cut one to 60" long, but my wife thinks she can sleep in that space. It will also provide us with a night stand for my CPAP.

Camping World lists an R5 Short Queen Select Comfort Mattress. Be prepared for sticker shock though. It is currently on sale at $1329.97. List is 1900.00. I have seen it most often at $1600.

You might want to give the Zinus Short Queen memory foam mattress a look (on Amazon). We bought the 10 inch model. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the 8 inch model though. The extra 2 inches of thickness and extra weight make it hard to maneuver for getting to the valves under the mattress platform in our 179.
