Topic: window in door Posted: 09 Jan 2010 at 12:31am |
That would be a nice addition. I'm going to contact our dealer to see if a window can be added and if they will do it and the cost.

HuronSailor those look like the ones I photo shopped. Can't find it now, but someone posted that windows in the walls was a big no no according to forest river (can't remember if the said door too). Figure I'll wait till Podterfly is all mine (and not the banks) and out of warranty. I think the round window would be great, and would be fantastic if it opened to get cross ventilation.
Meanwhile have a friend looking into a deal for the camera.

I just rechecked the link and it has a reversible mounting flange that adjusts for either 1/8" or 1 1/2" walls. Would likely need to adapt something for 2" door thickness... Unless the door is not as thick than the 2" sidewalls...?

As for the door I don't think there is a reason why it couldn't be done. The same goes for the sides where it's flat. Just be sure to use the rounded corners windows that RV's use. If you don't you will have problems.

I don't know about the door, but one of those would be great in each bunk in the 172.

That would be a good thing to have inside the pod or any TT. You never know who could be lurking outside your door when you are camping off season and there are less ppl around.

I agree with the light, (I'll probably add the clear vent in the bathroom too), but what I really would like is to be able to see out the door, before I open it. I've been thinking of a peep whole in the wall (not the door because of the screen), or maybe a backup type camera/video mounted above the door so i can get a 180 view with monitor on cabinet or wall.
Just some thoughts, we are kind of blind it the front. Maybe something like this.
