Thanks everyone!  Well, I am now the proud owner of an RP179!  I finally decided I would be spending MUCH more time in the kitchen than in the WC and when I am camping alone, there will be no need to close any doors LOL

I can hardly wait to take delivery and begin the fun part of outfitting it for safety and comfort.  I saved enough on the sale to justify a good generator so that is where I am going to be concentrating my focus on the next few days.  I have time, we won't be taking it out on the road in the heat for a couple months yet.  I have spent ALOT of time on the Mods pages and on Pinterest, (ya'll are WELL represented there) and I am getting some awesome ideas...I may even start my own little blog page about my Podastic adventures!!!

I have already been lurking and reading posts here and there.  I sure am glad ya'll are here!

Welcome!

We bought the R-179. The roomier kitchen outweighed the small shower/throne. One thing to consider is if you intend to do as you say and not spend time in a campground, the added storage space for supplies in the larger kitchen will be of more worth than the larger shower space. The kitchen is what we really liked and is one of the reasons we bought the R-179.

The only thing we wish could be different is the orientation of the bed. It would be nice if there were a way to rotate it 90 degrees , but there still would not be enough space to make it a walk-around. Personally, I would settle for a smaller slide-out and not have to crawl over the top of my wife if she retires before me or if I have to get up during the night. all of the queen bed models have the same issue since they are essentially on the same framework as the dinette.

Speaking of which, I did some modifications, including taking part of the space that would be foot room for the dinette and turning it into a storage bin. Check out some of the Pod Mods. There are lots of great ideas there.

Our maiden voyage with our RPod 179(outside the trip home from the dealer) was from North Carolina to Nevada and Arizona to see our daughters and their families (especially our grandchildren Big smile). We were pulling it with a 2016 Ford Escape SE with factory tow package. It did well also.

Yellowstone is one of the places I have wanted to visit for years. Now that we have the RPod, it is much more likely we will be able to make that dream become reality. I hope your planning and trip go well.

Kind of reminds me of Sean Connery saying about (Indiana Jones) 'Junior',  "I've lost him."
