Topic: Extended warranty Posted: 05 Aug 2016 at 4:19pm |
I opted for the Forest River second year. We have about one month left on it, but so far, haven't used it for anything. No problems at all with our 177, after many trips and many thousands of miles. But I still don't regret getting that second year bumper-to-bumper from FR.

We decided to pass on all the extended warranty "deals" when we purchased our 177 back in January 2011. It was a good decision, really haven't had any problems outside of the self-inflicted ones that have been my fault.

I also forgot to mention the $3300 was also including a $500 discount. When I refused the offer they conveniently said they could possibly give me an incentive of a $1000. Wow what a markup.

At $650, considering what it covers (pretty much everything, and towing) and for how long, the extended warranty I mentioned isn't a bad deal. Probably for the same warranty for over $3k, that's a rip-off.

If you want an all-inclusive 7 year warranty (roughly, I forget the exact time period) we've discussed the Protective Xtraride warranty here before, it is offered by a private company. They've been around a long while so they aren't a fly-by-night operation. Their cost is about $650. |
Hi techntrek I will be picking up our 180 r pod tomorrow and would also Like to purchase the $150 extra year extension. How would I go about it,would I ask the dealer or would I have to contact Forest River directly and if so would you still have the contact info. I'm definitely not interested in the high dollar warranty the dealer offers.
