Doug, I'm missing your point here. The possibility of the positive lead contacting the frame when the Pod is plugged in was my weak concession to disconnecting the negative. Otherwise I agree positive is per convention.

However, if a loose negative contacted the frame, there would be no issues whatsoever. That is another reason for going with negative.

Unless you disconnect the battery while the pod is plugged in, then the loose positive connection could short to the frame.  My personal reason for going with positive.

If you store without electricity you should disconnect the battery. It's only necessary to disconnect one side. Simply removing the lead with a wrench works just fine and the price is right. IF you ever might plug in the Pod before reconnecting the battery a weak argument can be made to disconnect the negative side, otherwise disconnecting the positive is customary. That said, it really makes little difference.

You only need to disconnect one lead. Disconnect which ever one you want. It's a Ford-Chevy, Blondes-Brunettes argument about which is better. I do the positive.

Someone please help this ignorant (!) trailer newbie!

I guess, based on what I am reading, that I should disconnect the battery on my Pod as it is stored where I don't have electricity. But I've also read several opinions for disconnect -- is it negative first, positive second, or positive first, negative second, or just positive or just negative? Smile

Good point, TT  and in fact explains why it doesn't really matter which side is switched.
