FYI their web site specs the Spaceloft as R=8.3 per inch. Extruded Styrofoam (XPS) sheeting is R=5 per inch on Dow Chemical web site. The Spaceloft is a bit better, but may not be worth a lot more money. Polyisocyanurate (ISO)  urethane can be R=6+ per inch, but absorbs water. I'd stick with closed cell XPS

Cool stuff.  I was hoping the price would come down years ago so I could do my attic with it... not yet.

I was going to say... for those prices, I'd rather buy an island in the Caribbean.

Came across a link on this high tech insulation. Might just have to re insulate the exposed fresh water
tank with this stuff
3/8 inch thickness of this stuff is equivalent to inches of foam block insulation without the health hazards

http://www.buyaerogel.com/product/spaceloft/

check out this site, lots of different products are offered. There are some sites on ebay that sell these
products for a more reasonable priceStar
