Topic: Fastway E2 WDH with Sway Control Posted: 13 Jul 2012 at 1:31pm |
Thanks Seanl. I think I recall you answering this in the other thread about this hitch. I just couldn't remember who it was and what they said. Thanks again and thanks to the others for your feedback.

I went with
trunnion . I don't think it makes a performance difference, but that is just here-say since I don't know for first hand observation. The reason I went with it was the
trunnion bar system does not hang as low and with my driveway the higher everything is the better. Someone on one of the other forums suggested that if you chose to strong a spring bar size it could stress the trailer. their reasoning was that if the bars were to strong the trailer frame becomes the weak link.

Square type, don't remember why I went with that version, its probable I caught a sale, too. I received confirmation from the manufacturer that using a higher-rated model is fine to use with a lighter trailer so I believe the 8000 pound model would be ok for you. I have the 6000 pound model.

Can't answer your question directly, since we ended up going with the Equalizer. Was leaning toward the E2 and then caught a great sale on the "etrailer" website. Anway ...we did go with the trunion bars, which is the answer you seemed interested in. Main reason being that they are stronger. Not enough experience yet to tell you if it makes any practical difference though.

I know that several folks have this E2 WDH from Fastway. Did you choose the trunnion style or round bar style and why? Also, I'm assuming you went with the 600/6000 version. If I wanted to swap this between my R-Pod and Jayco, would it be a problem if I got the 800/8000 version and still used that for hte R-Pod?
