Hello again fellow Podders. It’s been quite awhile since we
have been able to get Nuestro Pod out.
Normally, we try to get out every other weekend. But that hasn’t happened for 6-8 weeks and we
were bummed. If it wasn’t the weather,
there were “chores” to do around the house.
Down here it’s not that it’s has been too cold, it’s the wind and high
chances of rain on the weekends. Anyhow,
we finally got out this past weekend. We
didn’t find out I would have Friday off until Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, we travel pretty light and were
able to pull out about 10 am on Friday.
We decide to head to one of our favorite places, Isla Blanca County Park
on South Padre Island, TX. We got a spot
which turned out to be pretty nice. Most
of the “Winter Texan’s” had left so there were plenty of sites available,
however, it was the Mexican Holy Week - Semana Santa, there were
a lot of Mexican National families with their trailers in the park and on the
beach. (See Pictures)
We had to do a bit of repair on the R-Dome. Somehow I had managed to put a rip in it
along one of the seams. We uses some
Mcnetts Tenacious Tape to do the repair.
I worked pretty well but we are still going to do a little sewing and
re-taping to make sure it holds. With
the R-Dome repaired and up it was time to relax in our lounge chairs we always
bring. The weather was fantastic. The highs were in the low to mid 80’s and low
70’s at night with a nice breeze all the time.
As usual we took several walks on the beach and people watched. As usual the time was too short and had to
leave by noon on Sunday as that is the check-out time.
It sure was great to get out camping
again. We’ll probably head out to the
other nearby county park in a couple of weeks.
Happy Podding
