Topic: Need help - black tank won't dump Posted: 15 Aug 2011 at 8:39pm |
It was broken- looked like it got hit from the wheel side. I finally banged off the handle and the slide enclosure and opened the gate with a pair of needle nose pliers to drain it. I'lll have to replace the gate valve, four bolts and some bad smells!,

Oh no! I thought those things were supposed to be foolproof. Was it stuck shut?

Well, it turns out to have been a broken gate valve. So after draining the tank to the basement clean out, we now have to replace it...in time for Labor Day trip. Should not be to much of a problem, a little smelly, but after a couple of bathroom remodels in this old house of ours, it will be a snap. Can't wait

Now it's my turn with the black tank clog. Came home from Maine with a full black tank yesterday... :( I'm about to go out and see if I can fix it. Fortunately there is a cleanout for the sewer just inside a basement window that I can reach wih a 20 foot drain hose... Wish me luck

We have the blank tank flush standard on ours. It's a seperate water intake on the door side of the Rpod that's connected to a water supply. As soon as you turn water on you should hear it spraying almost immediately. The sound is not something you'd miss. When I do ours I shut the black tank valve while it's spraying to let some of the spray water build up before turning off the water and re-opening the black tank valve at the dump station to empty it. Hope that helps some. Pretty straight forward though, if you have the hose hooked up and water on and nothing is happening, then something's wrong with the sprayer somewhere.

I purchased a 10 gallon portable waste transporter and now empty the black water tank frequently and take it to the dumping station. The black water tank still read 3/4's full after completely draining it. So it was worth the purchase off the portable waste tank.

I have to confess that I have only seen this once, so I don't know much.
I believe that a water hose needs to be connected to a separate water inlet on the side of the Pod. This supplies water to only the tank rinser. Hopefully one of the owners who have this feature will correct me, if wrong.
It seems that there would only be 2 places where the water might be restricted; at the water inlet connection or at the sprayer(s) inside the tank. If it were me, I'd check the screen filter at the inlet connection. If all is well there, then perhaps a trip to the dealer may be in order. There might be some debris clogging the spray nozzels or a kink in the water supply line to the nozzels.
Again, I don't know much about this, as it is a relatively new feature. Good luck!

It happens after i flush the black tank and the grey tank. I want to use the "water spray" inside the tank, but sometimes i doesn't seem to work.

I don't think you want the black and grey valves open at the same time. Is there plenty of water in your fresh tank or are you hooked to city water, when attempting this? I just want to confirm you are getting a good water supply.

Hi,
concerning the black tank flush system, i know you must have the sewer valve open, but sometimes the flush seems not working like the water don't spray. Anyone having this problem? do i need to open the black and the grey valve at the same time?
thks
