The Equalizer and Equalizer E2 incorporate sway control with the WDH, so a separate sway bar isn't necessary with them. There are others that do need a separate sway control.

E2 WDH and Sway package is the way to go I think. Unless we hit a huge gust of wind I never even know the pod is behind me.

I should have mentioned that I have the WDH hitch as well.

I recommend going one step further and getting a weight distribution hitch which includes sway control. Ride quality is improved 100% and safety/control is increased. I used air bags and a sway bar for years and wish I had gone to the WDH instead.

Driving across the plains with a stiff wind I was thanking myself for getting the sway bar.

Its a matter of personal preference. How does your trailer react in a strong crosswind? When a tractor-trailer passes you? If you'd like to tame down trailer sway in conditions like these, then an inexpensive friction sway bar will help.
Personally, I have a sway bar and would recommend that others get one too.

I pull a 172 with a Honda Ridgeline. Is a anti sway bar necessary?
