Yes we went to I.B. Magee again. The primary reason was, we were able to get a
reservation. Of course we didn’t start
looking until 10 days before the holiday weekend. All the state parks within reasonable travel
distance were booked. Anyhow, we have always
enjoyed it when we have gone there. Due
to the wind direction and velocity (est 20-25) we decided to pull in so the
slide-out side was into the wind and protected the R-Dome, which worked well
until Sunday night when the wind picked up and slightly changed direction, just
enough to make us uncomfortable leaving the dome up. As a result, Monday we were domeless, and did
we miss not having it up. We did our
normal things walking the beach and the jetty, reading and just relaxing. We took a side trip Sunday to Aransas
National Wildlife Refuge which we have enjoyed a couple of times previously. (All
pictures below)
As a former tent camper, something that was fun to watch
from the comfort of the air conditioned Pod was somewhat inexperienced tent
camper taking down their tents and trying to fold them in the wind. (Been there
done that)
Note, if you decide to go there they have changed their Check
out Time to Noon. We opted to pay for an
extra nite so we could leave about 4 on Monday instead of noon and not have to
hassle with the line to dump etc.
