Topic: Our new-used R-Pod! Posted: 26 Jan 2011 at 5:44pm |
2peas - welcome! Usually the recommendation is to have your tow vehicle tires and trailer tires inflated to the maximum indicated on their sidewalls while towing.

Great to hear about your trip and glad things worked out well (pictures are always welcome ). Florida sounds pretty good along about now....getting tired of the snow/cold here in the Hoosier State. 10-12mpg seems to be about what everyone gets, regardless of what they tow with. Part of the fun, for many of us, is the challenge of figuring out the best storage, etc. Don't be bashful in sharing your ideas with us.

My wife and I purchased a 177 in Nov. We did a quick 2 nighter at a close by campground, to check it out. We just came back from a 3500 mi. trip around Florida. The trailer was great. We learned quite a bit. Next trip out we'll be better storage, with some different containers, soft sided. Gas milage was so-so. We pull with a 2005 xterra, 4.0 V-6. 10.5-11.0 mpg. I'm going to put more air in the r-pod tires next time out. All in all a great trailer. We really wished we could have seen at least 1 other r-pod out there. 2peasinapod, Oriental, N.C.

Congrats on your R-pod ! We have a 171 and love it. Your gas milage is lower, but you will make your money back by saving on restaurants and hotels ! Enjoy your R-pod ...they are a great camper. Forest River is also an excellent company and will stand by their products, even when their are problems. Just give them a call... Oh and by the way-did I mention that your camper is considered a second home and can be used as a tax deduction ! Speak to your account or a local RV dealer and reap the benefit.
Good Luck and Enjoy !

In 20 years they will be high-priced collector's items like Airstreams! (ok, maybe not)

Welcome! Others have had problems with the rear window in certain production runs - the new window seems to fix the problem as you found.
