Yes, a full load of fresh water is about 300 pounds which is why we just take a gallon or two when we have city hookups at the campground. The weight isn't a big problem - with a full load of water we are still lighter than our popup was and well within our limits - but I don't like to carry 300 more pounds around if I don't have to.
As we've discussed before, I wouldn't worry too much about overloading the 'pod with or without water. The 171 has a ~800 pound cargo capacity after you add on propane, A/C, microwave, and battery. With a full water tank you are down to ~500. Takes a heck of a lot of clothes, food, pillows and blankets to hit that mark (assuming you are putting chairs, tables etc in the Edge). The Edge has a 3500 pound tow limit so you will also be hard pressed to break that limit too.

We have well water as well as city water. Both have filters. Lots of minerals in the well water. Have pump outside with the well water, but not filtered, but I guess one could be screwed on before loading. Our city water gets to smelling like clorine when there are hordes of people here. We are at end of a line also and some say that has something to do with the clorine smell. Well, it is better than the sulfur that stinks in some parts of Florida.
But I think the full load of water would add 300 pounds, so I think I won't be doing that. I know I would rather have MY well water, BUT. I am counting that weight before I start weighing what I am putting in the Pod. This is all new to me, use to motorcoach, never was overloaded.

That is a lot of extra weight to pull around.

+1 on take-your-own. I fill the water tank from our well when we boondock, and we'll take a few 1 gallon jugs of our well water when we are on city water.

The R-pod owners manuals are a waste. It has so many generic things in it and items that the camper does not have. I know some people have added water filters either externally or inside. Me I use well water from our well to fill the tanks and have yet to hookup our city water connection so I have not felt the need to filter the water. I past cases when I did hok to water I did not know we carried bottled water or jugs for cooking and drinking.

As far as I know none of the R-Pods came with a water filter.

The owners manual mentions for 2 pages the WATER-PUR filter.
Dealer does not know if or where it is.
And we have been searching in the wrong place or don't have one.
Any one know things about this topic
I have the 171
