Congratulations on your purchase.  On our 2009, which we purchased used, we found many items that were in need of a little lubricant, cleaning, and adjusting.  As furpod says, the door lock is easy to remove and clean.  I used a lithium spray lubricant that leaves a white residue (like you see when car dealers lubricate your car door hinges) on the moving parts with the exception of the key tumblers - where you put the key.  It made a big difference the ease of closing and locking.  Good luck with your new travel trailer.  You'll find lotsa interesting stuff here to help you maintain it.

In what way is it.. "tricky"? Only 4 screws hold it in place. You should be able to remove it and see if it has gunk build up inside or something. Sometimes the strike plate needs adjustment if it isn't latching well, or if the deadbolt isn't going in and out easily.
