I have used scrap lumber for 40 years and it still works good. It's easily replaced and affordable.Big smile

I bought my lynx levelers five years ago, used them with our last trailer and moved them into the r-pod when we bought it.  Although they're used almost every time we camp, they're as good as new; no cracking, splitting or crumbling.

I have not had very good luck using the 'lego'-type plastic pads.  I have had several different brands
and they all have turned brittle in just a couple of years. They literally crumble.

I've been doing the wood board thing for years, now I have a few of the "legos" but sometimes I still use the boards.  I have 2 different thicknesses so I can fine-tune, which is why the legos don't always get used.  I always use a level on the floor of the 'pod before I've backed up the final foot or so and add the thickness I think I need.

I have not gotten the plastic blocks yet as I have alot of the scrap wood still and hate getting rid of something that is useful.  They look nice and I have seen many people use them.  Also I made wood wheel chocks instead of buying them.

We use scrap lumber. I usually use a hydraulic jack to raise the low side and slip the boards under the low wheel. I also use scraps under the corner jacks. The lumber does tend to warp and crack sometimes.
 
My buddy has these plastic yellow pads about a half inch thick that look like oversized LEGOS, I think there's 10 or so in a zippered bag. I'll probably get some of them eventually, but it just hasn't worked its way to the top of the list yet. .

I forgot to mention that I put plastic 'pads' under the corner levelers to keep them from sinking and standing in water when a campsite is soft.  I have a couple of extra pads and place them beneath the Bal leveler when needed. As mentioned above, it keeps the Bal leveler from sinking and clean.

Thanks. I've ordered a Ball Leveler. I camp at Dog Shows or Kennel Clubs, most often on some sort of pavement so the Ball Leveler will work well for me. I'll also carry a thin board of some sort and if I'm on dirt, I'll put it under the low wheel.
SHHHHH, don't tell Mike I spent more money on RV'ing.
