just how important is it to level and stabalize. My always in a hurry husband says this is totally unnecessary. Is it? I am getting sea sick!

You should try to be as level as you can and use the stabilizers so things like the fridge door and other line up and close properly.

My opinion only: Stabilizers are only for your comfort. Use if you want or not. For short stays, like one night, I leave the TV connected and don't use stabilizers.

As far as level goes, this is important for the fridge. It must be close to level for proper operation. Generally that means if you're comfortable in the camper the fridge will be too. You should try to level within +/- a degree or two side to side with blocks and front to back with the tongue jack. This will keep the fridge happy, you happy, and the doors happy.  Do not try to level with the stabilizers.

Agree.  I'll add the rear stabilizers are required for safety if you are unhitched.  If they aren't deployed the pod will tip up if you get too much weight in the rear.
