Dead The toilet is clogged in my R Pod,YUCK!!
(2011,177 R Pod)
Also I don't think the sensor is working because it says the black water is empty.
The  chemical to break down the waste was put in before and after clog.
We went to a RV dealer, they said to pack toilet with ice as that would help with clog.

HOW do I know its plugged?? I looked down the Toilet and had to pull out some toilet paper(RV paper)and the water was  under flap.
Can anyone help? I know this problem stinks,LOL
Thank you in advance

Haven't heard of packing it with ice, but I have been told that you put a bunch of ice cubes down the toilet into the black water tank and then drive the back roads a bit, and it will clear waste of the tank walls and stuff.

Next time don't throw toilet paper down the toilet. #1 cause for toilet clogging.  Rv toilets are temperamental.

Not sure what you mean about the toilet being clogged.  If the toilet is clogged I'd suggest plenty of liquid to soften things up; open the flapper and push stuff down into the tank with a stick.

If the black water tank is clogged, again, lots and lots of water; fill the tank up with clear water.  Make a couple of rounds of the campground before going to the dump station, then dump.  If that works, if possible run more water into the black tank and flush the tank again.  Add a few more gallons water when you are getting ready to head down the road and drop a couple of bags of ice to the black water tank via the toilet.  Start driving and let the ice bounce around in the tank, knocking things loose and diluting them as the ice melts.

Hi bcmatell,

The bag of ice trick is a standard with all the old timers, and it sure as h--- works. One month on the road last trip and ice worked perfectly.
Dump a 5 pound of ice into tank through toilet as last thing before hitting road, then drive and it does all the work. Full or half bag is ok, but put as much in as possible. Just remember to keep LOTS of water in black tank. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for all your info. I think I got it unplugged Big smile. I took a hose shot water down the toilet while the waste spout was open. I think that did it. So thanks again podders .

A lot of RVers encounter clog woes because they don't flush with enough water.   Always make sure all the paper is wet and well covered.  Yes the tank will fill up faster but when it does at least it can be dumpedSmile

Agree, water is your friend. Fill the bowl at least half-full for visits that require sitting (for a guy). There may be times when you'll want to flush and refill before you are done.

Never empty the black tank until it is at least 2/3 full (if you must empty early, fill it with fresh water). After dumping and adding chemical treatment, add at least 2 full bowls-full of water. If you have full hookups you can keep the gray tank valve open, but never leave the black tank valve open - same reason, you want it at least 2/3 full before dumping. Leaving it open will allow stuff to collect on the bottom of the tank and solidify. Then you have a real crappy problem.
