Was talking with the son over the weekend. He pulls a very large sailboat and has a tongue jack that has a wheel and a crank on it.
Is this ever done on the Pod? I think his has a bracket and four large screws, fits around the square tongue bar.
To make it easy to move around when off the tow car, making it a three wheeler.

Yes it has. You could check the 'mod' section to see if someone posted theirs. You can also buy a wheel to attach to the bottom of the tongue jack post. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/bal-tongue-jack-caster-wheel/17978

I have a tongue jack with wheel that I installed on my 172. This is a simple project that anyone with a couple wrenches could do. I picked mine up at a local Harbor Freight store for $19.99. You could also get one online (+ shipping). It's supposed to be good for up to 1000 lbs. I mounted it just to the right of the propane tank. I haven't had much chance to use it, as our 'Pod is parked on my sloped driveway and I don't want it running away without me. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

Thank you for the information.
Yet another thing to look into for easier camping.

I did this mod last year. I don't have the risers so I removed everything that was hanging low (except the stairs, and they may go next) and when I took off the factory jack I put on a the swing-up jack. As ToddsPod said, its a very easy podmod.
Welcome ToddsPod!

The problem I see with the swing up Tongue Jack is that the ones I have seen are only good to 1000 lbs and the jack installed on the rpod (or at least mine) is good to 2000 lbs. Also is the frame designed to take the pressure on the side? I had a Utility trailer that had a flip up that bent the frame due to the weight of the trailer. Domar (http://www.domarproducts.com/) does sell the wheel and pad that fit the pipe. You remove the wheel or pad while you are towing

Mine is rated more than 1000 pounds, I don't remember what it is and its dark so I can't look for any stamps. I'll try to remember tomorrow. I'm sure a 1000 pound model would be fine since the tongue weight won't be more than a couple hundred pounds.

If you have a Tractor Supply nearby they have a good selection of tongue jacks there too. This is a mod I've got on my list, but haven't done yet.

I took my hand crank one off and put an electric one on it. Just being lazy!

You do have a good point about the possibility of damaging the frame by putting all the weight on one side. I'm pretty confident in the construction, but I only use the fold up wheel jack when I need to do some small moving. I have left the original jack intact and use it for the lifting/leveling/stabilization.
