Have You Done Any Mods?

Permanent podmods:

- Removed original jack and added a swing-up jack (too low even when cranked all the way up).

- Removed the hose storage tube (too low, I already had a large tool box for the hose anyway).

- Removed 1 of the 2 light bulbs in the fixture above the queen bed (171), probably will add a dark-colored gel to cut the light level even more (we only use that fixture when we are getting ready for bed and the kids are trying to sleep).

- Added a battery disconnect.

- Added a paper towel holder in kitchen area.

- Removed the metal mini-blinds and will put curtains in their place by spring.

- Created black-out blinds for each window, which will go behind the decorative blinds and be removable during the day, probably with magnets.

- Added industrial-strength velcro at key spots to keep the shower curtain from sticking or billowing.

- Removed the post+slot thing under the table that is supposed to keep it from moving during travel (kept scraping my calf; the table hasn't moved at all w/o it).

 

Podmods for the future:

- Probably will unblock the 2nd outlet inside the fridge compartment, so I have a convenient place to plug in a light on the street side of the 'pod.

- Will add additional shelves, possibly with additional outlets or permanently mounted extension cords to each shelf (need areas for all the electronic gadgets to sit and charge overnight).

- Considering cutting a 3" hole under the shower, and then adding a small biscuit fan to force fresh air to come from the existing vent under shower floor (we had a lot of condensation this fall and keeping a window and the vent open only helped some but also drew cold air right were we were sleeping; the existing vent fan is too noisy, uses too much power, and moves too much air to use overnight).

- Might move the table leg so the table rests against the front wall.

- Need to add a shorter plug in the fresh water tank drain (sticks out way too low).

- Might remove the pull-out step assembly and use a portable step instead (also is too low, I've already had to bend it back into shape once after scraping on my driveway).

- Probably will move the switch for the water heater's electric element inside.

- Might reconfigure the storage area under the queen bed so the area at the back-left is accessible from the outside storage compartment.

Moved pin and bracket under table to end of table next to wall so our legs would not get scratched every time we sat down.

Replaced stock mattress with one from Ikea

110V electrical outlet at front wall under table

Grommets and bungie cord in spare tire cover to prevent it from coming off on the road

 

  Replaced blinds with curtains.                                                                                                                   Added shelf above window and bed with antenna conection and power outlet for TV and clock radio.

 Above the curtains for front windows added small storage compartments (very useful ).

 Removed factory table legs and made possible for front of table to connect to front wall    with single folding leg for other end.

 Modified a bamboo cutting board to fit over sink.

 Made a cover for over stove.

 Added antenna connection outside of trailer above power outlet on right side of trailer.

 Placed foam cushion under water pump and foam arond water hoses from pump.

 Replaced factory coil spring mattress with a foam mattress.

 Added 3M hooks and paper towel holder.
