While Boondocking I need to run a C pap . I've looked into Groundzero yeti 400 @ $459.00 but would like to find something less expensive .Could I just get a battery and hook up to an invertor? I'm including a pic from the back of the C pap. Thankyou Bill

Since it operates on 12V power, simply add a 12V power outlet and use a 12V cord to power it. That is what I do with my CPAP machine (Phillips Respironics Sytem One). Search for "DeVilbiss DV54D 12V power cord" and you will come up with links to suppliers who will sell you one. The 120V power supply supplies 12V power to the device. Running an inverter is a waste. Why use an inverter to convert 12V DC to 120V AC in order to use the power supply to convert the 120V AC to 12V DC? It makes much more sense to get the 12V power cord and just run it direct on the 12V DC your R-Pod's battery supplies. It is not that difficult to install a 12V outlet. It is one of the first mods I made along with a shelf on which it can sit. See my mods by following the link in my signature and you can see it. I have since changed it out for a double 12V plus USB power outlet in that location and added a single 12V outlet near the TV antenna connection. I agree with Stephen, we use the 12v power cords with the 12v socket. Works great.

| Which RPod model do you have? On the 179, the easiest place is on the wall around the corner from the stereo. I ran a new circuit from the breaker/fuse panel to there, using the vent opening under the wet bath as an access point for pulling wires through. |

Will910, I have no personal experience with or knowledge of CPAP machines but yours appears fairly sophisticated and capable. With heat and humidity options it will probably require significant power to operate to its full capability. I could not find the actual 12 volt current requirement specified anywhere. The numbers on the label do not adequately define it. The power requirement and the battery system you have on the Pod affect how long you will be able to run without outside power availability. I would suggest you inquire from the manufacturer or knowledgeable dealer if there is such a thing. Don't let them just read the label to you. Most of the time, when I use my CPAP in the R-Pod on 12V, I turn the heater off and just have some water in the chamber for passive humidification. That cuts the power requirement. I would rather use the humidifier, but if I am dry camping, I want to make sure I don't run out of power.
