I have a 2014 R178, and I am bamboozled by the lack of a door on the front, port side.  The dinette is on that side and the only way to access it, is to open the dinette benches.  AAAANNNNDD, the plywood under the bench cushions is as long as the bench, meaning you have to take out most of the cushions.  So I cut this board so that is looks like this:

And when opened:

I know its a simple mod, but jeez, why did I ever have to do it?  This should have been standard or a door should have been installed in the wall to the outdoors.

I need to cut my plywood like you did, good idea.  What size solar panel do you have?
