| I have just bought a 2010 172 pod and it did not come with an owners manual. When switching from 120 ac power to 12 volt dc battery power, is there a switch somewhere that you have to turn off/on. Or, when you plug the electrical cord into the 120 ac volt does it internally disconnect the 12 volt power. Just wondering how to change from one power source to the other. Don't want to torch everything….. Any advice will be appreciated. |

Until we get an expert in here................  We didn't get a Manual with our 2011 when we bought it just over 2 years ago either. I have learned we didn't miss much. The owners manuals you get aren't worth much. The best owners manual you are EVER going to find for a Pod is right here on this forum. Just like voting in Chicago. Start reading, read a lot and read often. There isn't anything to turn on. The Charger and inverter take care of you. Some things run on 12 volt, some things run on 110. When you plug it into the shore power more things work. We just started turning things on one at a time. And then plug it in and see what else works. Make sure your batteries are up to snuff with a water check and a good charge first, keep them charged to at least 40-50 %. Off hand the batteries run: Lights Water Pump Furnace (can be a little hard on a single battery though when it's real cold) Cooling fans on the fridge Gas detector Fridge will run on 12 volt battery but it's really hard on batteries, use the propane. (I almost never use the 12 volt anymore) If I missed anything........... I'm sure someone will point it out.  Everything else runs on 110. If the lights aren't converted to LEDs that's should be high on your mod list. (Unless you always have shore power) ------------- Bruce & Donna in the Sno Pod (and Brewer too) 2011 RP 177 |

You want to keep your batteries charged to 100% as much as possible to prevent sulphation (damage). Either keep the pod plugged in, or disconnect the pod and the battery from the pod and then reconnect every 30 days to charge it overnight. Yup, nothing to change/switch when you plug or unplug the pod. | We just bought a 2015 182G. What are the options to install an inverter to power a couple things like the TV that is 120V only? Also, has anyone installed a 12V outlet so a cell phone (with cig light plug) can charge when not connected to shore power? |

Installed this on the end of the dinette bench on 177 near the converter.
