I'm close to purchasing a 2016 179 soon (you can see by my "join" date how long I've been thinking about it).   I did a walk thru last week but failed to get a measurement that I'd like to have.  Since the dealer is 90 minutes away I was hoping someone could measure the distance from the ground to top of the hitch ball coupler for a level trailer.
Also if someone uses a weight distributing hitch can you tell me what weight bars you use.  600? 800? With a hitch weight less than 300# I'm thinking a lighter model would be ok.
Thank you very much.

Happy 4th!
Jack

Welcome.  If I remember right, with the axle risers the measurement is 18 1/2 inches.  However, someone else should verify that.  You are safe with a 400/4000, or 600/6000 rated WDH.  I used the later for years with my 171.

Smile I have a Tahoe and do not need a weight hitch but I did install a sway bar.
