 Yesterday AM, we left Cascade ID in snow, to travel 80 miles south to Boise to pick up our r-179, that had been in storage since 12/12/14. They were supposed put a topper over the slide, install 2 30# propane tanks and 2-6 volt batteries. After Spending 2 1/2 hours having hitch and brake controller installed on the Jeep Liberty, I checked the Pod and it had 2-12 volt batteries. After checking all paper work there was no mention of 2-6 volt, just 2 batteries. Then wife found that all curtains would not go down, they had to be adjusted. By time we were ready to leave, it was getting dark and I didn't want to travel the canyon in the dark. It was in the high 20's and the heater would not stay on, So, now I'm home without the pod. I, too, had a similar experience here in Colorado this past week-end. I traveled from North Central CO last Sunday to South Fork, CO in SW CO (approx. 260 miles) on Sunday to check out a new 179 at an RV dealership there. Woke Monday morning to close to 2 feet of snow. The dealer had pulled the unit into the maintenance garage on Sunday knowing that I was coming to look, so the RPod was nice and dry. and we did get to do a thorough inspection. I did purchase the unit, but decided that a later date in March would be more reasonable to tow it home!! With age comes some degree of discretion!  I'll make my above statement just a little clearer, After they were done with my 179 it was after 5:30. The going home traffic was going to be too much for my first time towing in over 9 years, and with a new rig. We decided to have supper with our daughter. then check in to Riverside RV park. The snow wasn't going to be problem as it only snowed a couple of inches and would be gone by 12 noon. The problem was traffic, darkness and the 37 miles of curves on Hwy 55, between Boise and Cascade. That night the heater in the Pod would not stay on, and was near 30 that night. So, we took it back to Nelson's RV to be taken care of. A little upset about the heater, but better there than up in the "wild". Next week she'll be home where she belongs.

Hmm, I wonder what's wrong with the heater. Air in the lines? The manual does say if there is air in the lines that it has to be cycled several times to clear it. If that doesn't do it then it seems as if the next step is to check the regulator. We has had several Podders with the same problem, and then fixed it by replacing the regulator. I know your is new, but I guess some of them are bad right out of the shoot! Just got back from Boise, with our 179 in TOW. The Jeep liberty did great up the mountain and thru the canyon, a nice 80 mile trip. The problem with the furnace was a bad control board, it took over a week for the new part. Tonight we are going to load her up and be on the road in the morning to Riggins for a full weekend test.
