Hello Everyone,

We're a family of three and just bought our first trailer. It took us quite a while to decide for a trailer for a number of reasons but the r-pod is so cute we're about to love it. Our truck is a Tundra from 2007. Both together look really good. We hope to do a very long trip with Franzi and Bommel.

In the moment we're sticking to weekend trips to figure everything out. Things like: How long can we dry camp? And where? How can the radio be turned off completely so that the blue light doesn't shine on us in the night? How much bbq meat do we have to buy for one weekend trip Smile

I hope to learn a lot of useful things from the folks in this forum so that I don't have to figure everything out on my own. But I'm also sharing my experiences in the hope to help others. Here is a first blog post about our research adventure to find the right travel vehicle:  http://blog.picturingtheamericas.com/finally-new-travel-mobile-r-pod-182-g/ - Finally a new travel mobile – r-pod 182 G
I'm sure there will be quite a number of blog posts coming about traveling with the r-pod.

Hopefully we'll meet some of you guys in real life too.

Have a fabulous night / day (depending on when you read this).

Inge

Welcome!
If the stereo is a Jensen there are two buttons just left of the display that control the display brightness.

Welcome.  If you are talking about the TV/Radio combo, you can unplug it.  Look inside a cabinet above it.

It's not a combo. I'll try Budwards recommendation and if it doesn't work, I'll post a picture.
Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome!  We are new too and also traveling close to home. The Smoky Mountains and Cherokee National Forest will be our destinations for the year. Learning more every time we go!

Welcome. As a transplanted So. Californian I have always said if I had unlimited money, I would live in Pacific Heights. Wonderful city, just very expensive. Enjoy your Pod. Safe Travels.

trvInlite: Smoky Mountains and Cherokee N.Forest sounds lovely. Do you post pictures somewhere?

Bob: It's indeed a great city. But I like most the country side around this city, plus the incredible Coast.

You can post photos here.  You need to go into "full edit" mode, then look for the little button with the picture of the tree.  First use the Post Reply button at the bottom-left of the last reply in the thread to get there.

Welcome aboard!  When we lived in the Bay area a few years ago we would go to Anthony Chabot which worked great as a shakedown trip for the weekend.  Enjoy the new camper!
