Well I feel like a real dunce tonight. I have been having problems getting the Refer. working with propane. It worked on 12v and 120volt but not gas. It would not fire up at all. I blew out the ventri and checked  for cobwebs and critters in the burner. I noticed that the igniter was not firing so I dug out my meter and started checking for voltage. Nothing. Hmm. At this point I decide to dig up the manual so that I can check and see if they have a troubleshooting section. I notice that if you push and hold the mode button for a few seconds it says in the manual the fridge shuts off. I shut it off and turn it back on and it fires up right away. When I started up the trailer this spring I forgot to turn on the gas on so when the fridge turned on there was no gas so it would not start. when it would not start it shut down the gas and igniter for safety and I had to shut it off to reset it.

The biggest part of troubleshooting any system is to understand normal operation first.

Good information to know. Thanks for the tip! I'm sure some day I will do the same thing, and knowing the cause and the fix will really help (not to mention saving me some time reading the manual).

I think on mine if the AC mode doesn't have power, or the gas mode doesn't have gas, the lights blink including a warning red light.  Does yours not do that?

Yes it does and I figured it was a trouble light but i did not know what it meant.

Mine does the light blinking too.  The first start on propane this spring I did the same thing, and wound up running the battery down by cooling the frige all night before we went on the first trip using battery.  Just before we left I tried powering down and starting on propane and it started.  Lesson learned.
