The tires on our trailer are 7 years old and though the milage on them is low, I have decided to replace them per recommendations on this forum.  The problem I am running into is that the original tires are ST235/75R15 and I am having great difficulty in locating a tire store that has access to this size. The local stores say that I can replace these tires with the readily available size of
ST225/75R15.  Is this acceptable as they are only a centimeter narrower and about 1/2 inch lower in profile from the tires that came on the trailer?
Thanks for any input you may have.

You shouldn't have any problem.  You'll give up at most 100 lbs of load capacity per tire.  Check the capacity of two 225's and compare it to the weight on your trailer axle.

My 153 Hood River Edition comes with LT235/75R15's, load range D.  They're a lot more common.
