RPOD at RV repair shop for electrical issue.  When connected to 110 power the all the clearance lights and taillight s come on. During trouble shooting he discovered when the AC is turned off the lights go off. Anyone had this problem with their RV or any suggestions that I could provide to aid in the trouble shooting. He believes there may be a screw or staple that has pierced the wires some where the AC wires run.

Did it just start doing this or has it done it all along?

I am the new owner and found the problem when I plug in the RPOD at the campground. The previous owner did not say anything about the issue.

The AC runs on 110VAC, so if it was an AC wire that was cross connected, I would expect it to just blow out the LED running lights. So I'm going to guess it is cross-connected with the thermostat, which is probably around 12V, which wouldn't kill the LED running lights.

If you can find the transformer for the thermostat, you might try disconnecting that to see what happens.

Got text from my RV repair service yesterday stating he found the electrical issue. It was staples thru the wires in the ceiling.  Great news.

We developed a water leak in the floor after years of use. Turned out to be a screw tip that eventually worked through a waterline. Of course, it was in the very last run I traced, in one of the most inaccessible.

My issue was a screw holding the solar connector on the roof had entered the yellow power wire between the ceiling and the roof. I took a while for RV service guy to find it. All he had to do was back the screw out and it released the wire.
