trying to ask a question about my axle and why it leans in at the top. keeps kicking me as spam. RP 195 2020. is it junk or they all do that and is it safe to pull had several opinions. had it looked at by a axle dealer and got different answers. from don't pull it to no problem just tire wear issue. thanks, Dave

You have a bent axle. If it's 1 inch out, I'd say you need to replace it. It is a risk with the cantilevered axle to get bent on hard bumps. The solution is to reinforce it. There are numerous threads on this forum for how different folks have dealt with the problem.

We had this on our 177 and it only was an issue on the slide side. When I asked about it at the dealer I was informed it was 'typical' to have that on models with the slide and only occured on the slide side which was our case. 14 years and 51,000+ miles later it got bad enough (after our trip out west last fall, 2024 - and a LOT of potholes) to where we finally replaced. For me it was more cosmetic than anything as tires were always changed out between 5-6 years of age and never once was the tread worn enough on the canted side to where it was a candidate for blowout or similar.

I just replaced my axle, Lipper (original axle manufacturer) has a 10 year warranty (but only if you are the original owner)! I sourced purchased and installed a new axle (the problem was the tire was hitting the fender. After getting some bad advice I replaced the axle. It turns out that same problem with new axle. The REAL problem was not the axle but that the wall outside the frame rails was sagging. The fix was to install supports under the outside wall (Slideout side) and move the fender up about an inch. Therefore I now have used (8 years and very little use) Lippert axle, and brakes for sale! New one cost me $1100.00 will sell used one for $500.00.
I still have the pallets the new one came on and will ship (Split the shipping cost with you. Let me know if you are interested...Ericjump@aol.com
