Does anyone do real cooking on the RPod's cook top? Does not appear to be vented to the outside. Any more than boiling water will trip the smoke detector.

Thanks in advance,

I ended up doing most of the cooking outside because of the smoke detector. As you note, there is no vent above the stove. While we no longer have the RPod, the Cherokee Grey Wolf is only marginally better. It has a vent hood, but a weak fan and it will still set the smoke detector off if I try to do anything that generates smoke. So, I still do the grilling and frying outside. I started to take the smoke detector down and cover it with a pillow until after I am done cooking. After all, if it is pouring outside and I can't cook outside, we still need to eat.

Smoke detectors need to go.
I like cooking in the trailer in colder weather.
Even making coffee warms up the rig.
In the summer I cook outside except for breakfast.

My solution is to put a shower cap over the smoke alarm when cooking.  Every morning I was rudely awaken when my husband made toast, before I happened on this solution.
