Doing some interior woodworking. Anyone determined the stain color for R-Pods? Are they different? Mine appears to be close to Red Oak. I have a 2015 178.

You'll have to experiment. Most of the wood in the POD is not stained wood, but faux covered with vinyl.

A lot of the wood is solid wood, not glued up particle board, which makes for a lighter weight.  I can't tell what kind of wood but I imagine it would really soak up any stain.  Start light and work up.

Agree, I figured out it is faux not stained when I tried to use tape to secure a loose piece I had glued, it pulled the faux when removed.

Mike, we have a 2016 178 with woodwork colored a very muddy grey/brown.  Impossible to match with commercial stains.  I took a sample to Sherwin Williams and after a few days they produced a stain that is really close after 3-4 applications.  Here is the formula - hope it helps.

I used to have a 2014 178 Rpod. I built a free standing floor cabinet out of popular. Used Minwax pre-stain and Minwax English Chestnut. Turned out pretty darn close to original.

Thanks all, the Sherman Williams idea makes sense.
