Hi all - just back from a great trip up through northern Idaho. Halfway through, water pump is giving me problems (keeps kicking on, allowing city water to bypass and overflow, now leaking from the front of the pump). Its 11 yrs old so I'm going to replace it rather than see if the diaphragm is shot. The original is the ShurFlow 4008, eTrailer recommends a FloMax as a direct replacement with higher pressure and gpm. Anyone have any experience with one vs the other? I know the OEM would be fine, but there's not much price difference so wondering if the FloMax is worth a shot. I've always had good experiences with eTrailer.

Thanks, all!

I have had good luck with ShurFlo and it seems that you have also (11years). I have not heard anything about the Flo Max so I would vote for the ShurFlo. But that's just me. Good luck, Jay.

After 12 years we thought the original Shur Flo was getting a bit noisy so replaced it with a similar Shur Flo.  Funny thing is that the new one wasn't a whole lot quieter than the one we replaced.  However i did tie a couple water lines together so that they don't rub when the pump runs, resulting in a quieter sound when the pump is running.

Thx I'll try that - noise hasnt been a problem, just malfunctioning. I may try mounting it with thick rubber washers between the pump and floor to isolate it more.
