   One of my lead acid batteries had to be retired back in June, it was a 15 year old Interstate deep cycle.  In its place now is a Eco-Worthy 100AH which will go well with the remaining 5 year old Trojan T-1275 160AH battery.  Question is what is the best way to winterize a lithium?  I give the L.A. batteries a 2 amp trickle charge for 24 hours going into November then set them directly on a concrete floor in an unheated garage and don't worry about them until the following May.  You lithium experts, how do you handle the lithium over winter?  I am in northern Michigan.

	Lithium Ion batteries I don't know. LFP (AKA Lithium Iron Phosphate) are reasonably temperature tolerant, but will not tolerate being charged below freezing. They WILL function to well below zero (Fahrenheit). However, I would not routinely leave them in freezing conditions. Probably best left indoors. They do lose charge fairly slowly, so they probably would not need a trickle charge for up to 3 months or so. We are using LFP batteries in the gate controller for our small community. We very occasionally get temperatures below freezing (like around 29 or 30 in a worst case). The LFP batteries we installled have a charge controller that prevents them from being charged if the temp is below 32, so we don't worry about it. The LFP batteries should last for 4,000 or more charging cycles.
