Checked the wheel alignment after a recent trip. Top of the passenger side wheel toed in. Bent axle for the 3rd time. This time and the first time, I don’t even remember hitting anything that would cause a bent axle. This is ridiculous. Probably time for something different…

Welcome to the world of the torsion axle. Not sure if Rpods still come with Lippert axles or if they switched to Dexter, but it doesn't matter. I have two Dexter, 3500lb Torflex axles on my Escape fiberglass trailer and have already replaced both. Keep your tire pressure on the higher end of recommended to reduce drag on the axle spindle during turns. It's going to be hard to find something without this style of axle.

It's not the torsion axle that causes the problem. It's the almost 12" cantilever from the frame support to the wheel. If the frame had an outrigger or something to support that was closer to the wheels, then this would not be such an issue.

The cantilever situation is an issue, but unique to the the Rpod and similar campers. In tandem axle campers with torsion axles, the spindles are prone to bending when subjected to tight turns and one of the wheels is "dragged", and impact with road hazard. Torsion axles are not nearly as durable as a straight axle on leaf springs.
