New to the Forum.
Camping from decades (more overlanding)... new with an Rpod. I just bought it and trying to renovate it all possible to its new years. Where is the 2010 Rpod 177 Manual Slide Out Operation, in case you are out there and the system does not work with the battery, and so related. Thank you, Al. |

There us no, easy way to manually operate the slide in the event it fails. There are several YouTube videos but this is the overview.
If the slide is in and it will not operate, you will need to remove the slide seal and side trim to access the slide motor upper mounting bolt. There us a motor on each side of the slide. Removing the bolts will allow you to move the motor to the side and pull/push the slide out. If the slide is out, then you can access the the upper motor mounting bolt, remove it am repeat the process above. |

I will crawl under the slide (kitchen) when is out and check. Mine
works good...I just wanted to know if suddenly I am boondocking and it stops
working, then the trouble begins. I never had a slide and I am not sure if it
is legal to drive with the slide out, taking in account that this one is not much on the
outside; but again the question is thinking in case of an emergency the day you
do not expect it. Thank you. |

If it gets stuck in the out position, the solution for Schwintek units is to pull the covers off both sides, and disconnect both motors. You can then manually push it in. At that point you need to insert a board (or two) that are just long enough to prevent the slide from sliding out on its own. Not ideal, but do-able with some major caveats.

Since I asked I have been watching this guy who repair slides:
https://www.youtube.com/@AZExpert/search?query=slide
He is an experienced RV technician with useful content, and it is good to be ahead of the possible trouble. I have been reinforcing with extra wood all under the bed and under the seats. Hard to believe they did it like that. Also many factory holes not sealed. Will keep looking; basically I will remodel every where it can be done. Thank you. |

I
am waiting for parts I ordered. - The two exhausts on
the roof are completely broken, so I guess when it rains some water goes
through it. They should come today. I found aluminum ones, probably to last
forever: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DQQ2343L?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 - Also will cover
the shower so I can open it when it
rains:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UUMM6K?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 - I am thinking to
add a new axle, as one side I see like 5 degree angle in the tire at the
bottom, still after changing the bearings; and the spindle is fine, so probably
the torsion arm is getting old. I am in contact with Lipper for that matter. - I will add solar,
and this is something I have done for years in a small off road trailer I have,
in a van I converted in the past, and in my own Silverado I have 3 solar panels
over a rack I built. It will be a challenge because it is round on the
top...but I will find the way. - Added already a
box in the front with Camco gas tank cover. - Added 2 x 200 AH Lithium
(I had them from another project), but I installed them under the passenger
seat inside the Rpod (Dinette); and the solar system will be there as well. - I want to paint
the center-outside of the Rpod, the re-seal everything, so I can give
maintenance to the AC without worrying for leaks. This week should
come all the seals for the slide. They are not super bad, but better than have surprises.
This pod all in it works but the guy that had it was not up to maintenance, as
you can see in the roof no cover for the exhausts. You can see the two black
pipes. -Right now I am
ending a second hand painting inside the Rpod, except the kitchen. I will give
it three times, but these panels are not so friendly to the paint, they are
special ones against humidity with some vinyl over the lauan wood, but little
by little is sticking there. Already looks like there is more light inside. - I will add Led
lights except the bathroom...we are getting old. We know it because at night
the light bothers a little bit when suddenly on. -I may replace
the toilet with composting, in my experience from the past I think it is the
best; of course it is just my opinion, and we use it mostly just for my wife
and me. I understand that when you have a big family that could be an issue. - I already painted
underneath the trailer half way to all metals...need more paint. - I will be busy,
and my vacation ends next Thursday.
Busy... busy. |

Forgot!... adding a camera to the back, and lights to the front. Will use the battery=now-tool-box I installed at the front, from Harbor Freight.
