Podster--you are correct about what I did/needed with the Aliner.  My tow vehicle is a 2005 v8 Toyota Tundra.  My mechanic doesn't think I will need weight distribution and sway control for the pod.   Likewise, he said to just drive a bit and see how the pod pulls and brakes. He has told me that twice, but I am still a little nervous. Tomorrow I am getting a new hitch and will ask at that shop. (of course they will probably want to sell me something...) Thanks for responding.

Not sure what you are towing with but I would say #1 is get your tow vehicle set up correctly - will you be using weight distribution and sway control? Probably didn't need that on the A-liner but you most likely will on the POD. #2, make sure your brakes are set up correctly and make sure you know how they work and how to adjust them. Depending on the model A-liner, you may have not had trailer brakes. #3 Enjoy! Smile

We just have some additional policy through our car insurance that covers the Pod.

As for your second question if you've owned an Aliner you're already more prepared than a lot of first time owners.  There's nothing that different about a Pod.  Just be cautious and aware on the roads as you would any other time, know that your gas mileage will take a huge dip with a Pod, and just have fun beyond that.

Contgrats on your almost Pod!!

Hi--I do own an R Pod, but I'm waiting on it to be delivered on 10/04/14.  On 10/06 I am taking off for a short trip, and to get out of the heat.  (I live in Mesa, outside of Phoenix.)

I have two questions that I hope someone will respond to.  #1--Insurance.  What are some recommendations for coverage?

#2--As a new owner about to head out of town, what are the top three matters that I need to learn first about towing and camping in an R Pod??  I have owned an Aliner and have some experience.

I hope I posted this in the Introduce Yourself forum.  Sorry if I didn't.
