i just did the mod and haven't used it. I added a cleanout for the gray line at the 90 deg turn, if you can see it. The cleanout was a recommendation of the person that i stole this from to wash the line out of food and such. Not sure if you can tell from the photos, but the line i added to connect the tanks does have decent fall to it, about 2" over 6.5 feet, so that should drain good. |

TexMan, I'm looking to get a 182G in the next few months and was wondering if you have heard any pro or cons on the Gray Tank drain mod? It looks pretty easy and having just one hose connection location would be great. Any issues with the gray water not properly draining after the mod? Thanks and love all your great Mods! Tony

This is for parallel not series. this is to isolate the solar from the pod. do, if switch is on 2, you can only charge the batteries and the pod is off, no drain. 1 and 2 pod and zamp both. off is all off, batteries isolated.

Thanks, I'll check, but think it is 10 gauge. As for alternator, don't know, We do know it can take care of 1995 F150 6 and the original Pod's excide. Before any alterations, need to check on that. I know it is 1 yr old life time warranty
Again, thanks for your help, Ill look up the switch and maybe there is a schematic of how to hook it up. Later, |

Reasons why the batteries may not have charged: 1. If you were running the refrigerator on 12V while driving, the power required for that may have meant that there was not sufficient left over to charge the batteries. Cure: Run refrigerator on gas while moving and on AC when connected to shore power. 2. Charging wire of insufficient gauge to carry enough current to charge the batteries. 10 gauge wire is the smallest size that should be used. If available, 8 gauge would be better. 3. Alternator is not putting out sufficient Amperage to meet the needs of both the truck and the R-Pod. 4. Despite dealer's assurance, the 12V supply to the trailer might have a problem. Use a good digital voltmeter to check the trailer connector to see if it has 12V power. There could be a blown or missing fuse. Check this diagram for the pinout on the Bargman Connector. Use the #4 and #1 connections to check. |

I have a battery charger on them now, and after 30min went to full charge, left on 5 amp overnight. No, I plan on using gas for frig. from Charleston to Perry GA. ( 6hrs max) if I have to, then change over to shore power then go shoping while frig is getting cold. (GA fairgrounds, stores near) ,. I don't know how the charge is kept on the battery,(not that far in the book) but do have 2 solar units that I can run. (again haven't read that far) Still trying to basics like Twin bed, sheets, caulks, hoses with fittings. Got to two battery boxes and batteries ( gel type). Got a quick disconnect for the batteries, but not a switch that you are talking about. Again, can you tell me how to hook it up, if will find it on amazon. don't know how to get an email of a diagram? Thanks for your help. I figured out how to the Iball, and back up under hitch, now for how to back the trailer with the same unit. like I said first time, but this battery thing has thrown me.
