Can anyone refer me to a good source for either a website or book that has information on RV Campgrounds in the U.S.?

This site http://www.ultimatecampgrounds.com/uc3/index.php shows over 28,000 public campgrounds in the US, and most are available for RVs.  If you use one of the apps, you can filter the campgrounds for RV only.

Good Sam membership includes a very good guide, either as an app or softcover book, "Woodall's" my parents used that for decades.

You might also consider Trip Advisor, on line.  Lots of info on just about anywhere you want to go.  Although we have the Woodall's book, we also check on comments posted on Trip Advisor.  Another source for checking on campgrounds and campers experiences.  Safe Travels.

Don't forget about the US Army Corps of Engineers, you can buy a Golden Age Pass, 62 years or older and you have to be a US Citizen.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.
