We are a family of four and after long search we settled on a 2014 182G R-Pod. We are long time tent campers and decided to step it up. We mostly camp Elkmont in the Smokies but our firts trip out was to East Harbor State Park near Port Clinton Ohio. We tow with a F150 Supercrew FX4, and the 182G we a breeze to haul with little to no sway. Had a great first trip out, spent 3 nights out and the only issue was keeping the mayflies out of the camper.
My 10 year daughter named it the SiR-Pod(camping like a sir) ![]() Hope to see some of you out there and if we get the time make it our to a R-pod gathering. Ray Pictures. |

Thank you.
We've made use of the forum and it's helped a lot. Hoping to have something to contribute in the future.

Sir, quick question for you: where did you get the bike mount? I like how it keeps your bed open for gear.

The bike mount is self made using the yakima landing pad 6 mounts, control tower and round bar.
I drilled, mounted and sealed them to the cover. The cover is rated at 500 pounds and easily carries two full size bikes or my kids bikes. The cover will not lift with the full size bikes on board but will lift with the kids bike on the racks. When we take all four, we just throw the kids bikes into the bed. My hope is the rear hitch on the R-pod is strong enough for the kids bikes.
