Pulling with '99 Ford 150 Triton V8 4x4 Off Road. Did well with my first 800 mile round trip.

Yes, there are pod-specific and FR-specific get-togethers. Check out the Events and Campouts section for some.

Hi again techntrek,
Thank you so much for all of your advice. No, the R-Pod is not hooked up to the TV. We must be setting the tongue jack too high. We will try again with the tongue jack lower down and see if that makes any difference. Also, we heard that there are sometimes R-Pod group camping for just R-Pod owners. Is this actually a thing? Much appreciated, K and M

Is the tilt while it is still hooked up to the TV? If yes, the hitch needs to be adjusted (they almost always do) because the tongue should be level or slightly down.
If it is disconnected, you adjust the height front-back using the tongue jack. Only use the stabilizers to make contact with the ground and then turn them a little more to firm them up - never try to level the pod with it. To level side to side use wood or Lynx levelers under the low tire before you unhook.

Glad you are getting the advice you need. I am sure there is a solution to your "uncanny cant", uncomfortable.
I sold my pod over a year ago and really miss it but knew it was time due to my age. But going places where I can take my dogs and rent a travel trailer while there. You have great and wonderful times ahead Enjoy! |

Hi techntrek,
Thank you! We are very excited and happy with our new trailer! We ended up getting the WHD with sway control and she drives very well. Handles the "hill"/mountainous region out west we see here in the Rockies. We have spent a couple of nights in the trailer and found that it tilts to the back a couple of degrees. Have you found this to be an issue or are we setting up our trailer wrong? We do put the stabilizer jacks down, but no matter how we adjust and readjust them, the trailer always seams to be leaning towards the back. If we adjust them too much, then the jack being adjusted would take one or even two other stabilizers off the ground. We are also using pieces of wood under each stabilizer. Any suggestions?

K_and_M welcome. I recommend getting a WDH with sway control. No need to disconnect it when backing up, unlike sway bars.

We had the factory tow package on the Edge. Has been several years now since I have had my pod, but I seems to remember sway control bars on the hitch...remember pulling my pod straight first, applying them AND before I started backing into a camp site I would remove them! I had made a sign to hang from my rearview mirror telling me to remove sway bars!

Hi!
My name is KaRynn and we too have a Tiguan. IT is a 2014 manual speed Tiguan. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It has put a lot of questions we had before purchasing the R-Pod to rest. We just purchased an R-Pod RP 171 and very excited to take delivery on it tomorrow. However, we were wondering if you installed a Weight Distribution Hitch or sway control bars? Thank you, K and M |
