Topic: 1st Weekend for us Posted: 06 Feb 2012 at 11:55pm |

We survived!!! And survived quite well. The park had been winterized, but that worked out better for us anyway. We just hooked up to elect and didn't have to worry about water or the dump station. The only negative was that the microwave didn't work. The convection part was fine, but (in saving weight) we only brought plasticware and that would've melted.
The heater kept us more than cozy, but how do you eliminate or reduce the condensation on the inside of the windows? Since heat rises, we didn't want to open the fan in bathroom. We only had it on 60-65 but it was 26 when we woke up on Sunday morning. That might just be something to deal with. We wiped them down and turned on the fan once we were up and about. Seemed to dry off quickly. Also bought something called dry-z-air. Is there something better we should use?
Dealership is getting us a new microwave and installing a vent hood over the bathroom fan so we can crack the fan while it's sitting at the storage place between outings.
As soon as I figure out how to resize my picture, I'll post one!

To help with condensation, most of us open (just a wee bit) a couple of windows or a window and the bath fan vent - just don't turn the fan on. You'll lose some heat but, not a lot. Experiment and you'll find what you need in your situation. Personally, I don't worry about some amount of condensation on the glass windows...they are not insulated glass. I would be concerned if other things were getting wet.

Ditto on cracking a window and cracking the vent - not only to control the condensation on the windows but in the air in general. With everything closed up it will really feel humid.

I agree with the open fan cover and cracked windows - even at 11F in January we didn't lose much heat. Did have a little frost on the back window though.
Welcome to podding!

Great info! We will try cracking the window & vent when we get it
back from the dealership.
We are in WA until Sept on active duty. Home is Wichita Falls, TX,
but we aren't sure if that will be where we go when we are done in
Sept. Might be headed somewhere else depending on what things
look like in another 7-8 months.
