The motor on my Dometic 9100 awning clicks when the awning switch is depressed but doe snot move the awning. I checked the wiring connector near the motor and it was showing 13.6V when the switch is depressed. This means the motor is bad. The replacement OEM motors are around $700 while aftermarket ones are around $124. Do any of you have experience or recommendations with the aftermarket motors?
Thanks, Dan

Dan, just my two-cents worth (if you haven't already made a decision). No, I don't have experience with the aftermarket motor for the awning, but for $124 I would take the chance if, and only if, it's not a big pain for you to replace that motor yourself and you don't mind doing it again if you have to, or if it's not very expensive to pay someone else to do it. It's worth the chance for the huge price difference ($700 is ridiculous for an awning motor). There are some things I would only trust to OEM, but since the awning is not an essential, try the aftermarket. Again, you don't want to go that route if the replacement costs for labor are high. I just moved to Bradenton this summer from MD.
