Hoping the braintrust can make sense of this.

I can not run anything with 12vdc in my R179. However, everything works fine, if I am connected to shore power, or my tow vehicle. Bondocking is not an option until I figure this out. I plan on adding a second battery, but until I can sort this out. I do have a remote solar charging system as well.

Thanks for the input, Keith

Hi Keith,
Unless you are hooked up to shore power, or hooked up to a generator, or have an inverter installed, your outlets are not going to function.  The 12v battery or batteries will run lights and furnace while boondocking, but nothing else.  We normally boondock with our older L.A. batteries.  The oldest will turn 15 years old next month, a 12v Interstate deep cycle while our newer one is a 5.5 year old Trojan T-1275.  We can go 5 - 6 days boondocking with this setup when night temps drop into the 40's, no solar or generator is utilized.  The fridge and furnace run on propane while the battery will run the lights and motherboard to the fridge and the spark ignitors to both fridge and furnace.

+1 what Jato said. The only electrical items that will work off your battery are lights, fridge (propane, 110v, 12v) and furnace (propane). To trouble shoot 12v issues, make sure your battery is fully charged, has solid connection to the cables, then check fuses.
