Hello! My wife and I are first time camper owners and bought a new 196 last November. We have taken it on a maiden camping trip that was a great success and have several trips planned for the coming year. Looking forward to many years of fun!

Was curious about thoughts/recommendations on a good quality cover, as our pod will be stored outside.

Thanks!

Welcome and congratulations! I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories. We have a 2016 RP179 that has been on a number of long trips.

As for covers, no tarps. Classic Accessories makes some good covers, but you would need ot check if they make one suitable for the 196. Some covers are better than others. One of the biggest problems is making sure anything that could snag the cover is shielded such as rain spout ends, antenna, hatches, etc. Anything sharp can snag a cover and tear it. I use sections of a pool noodle to cover those areas.

Congrats on your 196. I purchased a 195 last June and camped all summer in it. I'm pretty sure You will love the 196. I had a smaller pod before buying the 195.The large pantry, and larger fridge and freezer are such a nice difference. I think the size is just right for the 2 of us. Enjoy your camper.

Thanks, we were only able to get the Pod out once before COVID shut everything down. We just came back from a long week end now that some of the local campgrounds have reopened and our second trip was just as fun as our first.
