Here's three photos of the risers on our 2018 Hood River Edition 180. The risers are a rectangular tube, 3" tall X 2" wide X 17" long. Wall thickness is 1/8". They are welded to the frame and to a bracket that is bolted to the Axle attachment brackets. There is also a 1.5' X 1.5" x 1/8" angle iron that is welded on connecting the fronts of the left and right side risers. It is probably best to call forest river to find out if they a sell risers to retro fit to your Rpod. I just lifted my 2020 RP-195, it measures 17 to the bottom of frame, and 22 to bottom of body (5 " frame). I notice that Forest River is selling them at that height now. I got a "first" build and originally the frame was 13 ish from ground and 18 to the body. Mostly I lifted it to get the drain tube away from the ground. It had 4 1/2 inches clearance before the lift. I did manage to get it about an inch higher, but even at 5 1/2 I was uncomfortable.

I remeasured my RPOD 179 and to body it is 18” but to the bottom of the frame it is 15”. My mistake on the previous measurement. Thanks for the info Although I am curious to find out if FR sells the same risers they use on the HRE. Is it welded in or bolted in?

Thanks remeasured today, 18 1/2” to the body, 15” to the bottom of the frame. My mistake on the preceding measurement. I am trying to figure out if the lift kit that FR sells is the same one used on the Hood River Edition. Thank again for the input |

West coast HRE 180, built in 2018 with 2019 VIN. Factory installed axle risers. I don't know how to tell if the torsion suspension is clocked to add height. With trailer level, height to bottom of frame is 19.5 inches.

Clearance from the ground to the bottom of our frame is 16". It is a west coast HRE built in 2016 (with a 2017 VIN).

What is your clearance from ground to frame? We have the East Coast edition, 2018 with 15” tires an the torsion bar appears to be “clocked”. I believe our frame clearance is 18”, but I will recheck tomorrow. .

After owning our 177 for 8 years (as of 10/2018) we decided it was time to add the riser kit as it was getting bothersome to unbend the rear stabilizers on a somewhat regular basis. Purchased the kit from FR, cost was $ 150 including shipping. Instructions were straightforward and all I used was 2 good floor jacks and simple hand tools. Total time was just under 1 hour to do the job. That being said we have noticed no difference in towing or gas mileage when using either our '13 Explorer or '11 F-150, both vehicles averaged 12 mpg which includes city, highway and a lot of mountain driving in the Rockies. Have not had any issues with either sway or wind drag; we use a simple Curt anti-sway bar, works well for us.
