We live in San Diego, and travel a lot along 395. One of our favorite spots (usually last or first) is Tuttle Creek, a BLM campground near Lone Pine. Rate is only $5 per night (or $2.50 with the Golden Geezer pass). Beautiful views, never full, and you can explore the Alabama Hills nearby (lots of movies filmed there). We're heading back to Yosemite next week, and our first stop is Tuttle Creek. ![]() |

Nice, Dropkick. We enjoyed that trip and the scarcity of traffic and cooler temps. Post some pics if you can.

Hi,
In that photo we are towing with a Toyota Tacoma. It did strain a bit going over mountain ranges. So I traded up to a 2006 Tundra with a 4.7 litre V8 which should do better. |

What are you towing your RP 179 with? Your pickup looks a lot like hours (ours is a Nissan Frontier). We are brand new to the 179, and finding it feels just a bit heavy behind our 6 cylinder Frontier.

Scenes like that bring back memories of some notorious camping trips in the tent trailer. One can hardly hear the wind blowing in the rPod.

we took our 179 on a maiden voyage up into the Sierras from Az. This was early June. The plan was to explore Colorado but the weather was so bad we re-routed west. As you can see we caught weather there too.
