You might want to take your battery box off and check out the tray that it sits on.  I was reinstalling my battery the other day and noticed that it was loose.  Upon further inspection I found that the bottom rails of the battery tray had rusted through.  Rust was only on the side under the battery box.  

I suspect that any rain or condensation came off the pod and collected on the tray rails.  Once under the box, it did not drain but sat there.

I’m currently working on rebuilding the tray.  Will be using new angle iron to create new tray once I have coated the existing components with Eastwood’s rust encapsulator.  

In hindsight, I should have taken the box off on a regular basis.  Live and learn.Ouch
