Vinyl trim replacement and awning removal

Hi fellow podders! I need to replace the vinyl trim on both sides of my Rpod 178. The issue is, it seems I need to remove the factory Tule Awning since the vinyl runs under it. If so, I want to be sure to use a recommended caulk/sealant when reinstalling the awning. Any suggestions or input are much appreciated!
