I'm a current owner of 2010 R-171 and camped in it since 2020 with minimal issues. 

I'm looking to upgrade (R-207) next year amidst retirement, but concerned over the issues with newer models I've read from various SSMedia groups.

Hot water pump, water pressure, fridge electronics, squishy shower floor, etc.

I will definitely be searching here but throwing this out for any thoughts.

We have been scanning FB Marketplace for over year and decided it was an R-Pod or bust because we like the size, layouts and especially the weight!.  So after much patience, we finally found one in our price range and now its sitting outside our house.

All the major systems work. But had to fix an air leak near the water pump (thanks to this forum, I was able to find the problem)

Issues that i am still working through are the black tank reading 3/4 full when empty, from what i understand, i need to spray it down.  I did treat it and the gray tank and sanitized the fresh water tank.

Also had to lift the sagging floor on the slide out side. Some one had put in braces, but they were too short and didnt do anything, so i put in 7  larger ones and it raised it up about 1/2 inch.  Still sags by about 1/4 inch, but whatever, the slide works better now.

We are heading out on our first adventure this weekend. Staying close to home just to feel safe and get a handle on all the details before we take off on a long trip and wish we didnt : ).

Anyway, thats about it and thanks to everyone here for all the advice, i have been scouring thsi forum for a few answers and fixes.

Our F150 tows our RP179 just fine, but the tongue weight of about 450 lbs puts the headlights up in the trees. We use a Fastway E2 WDH, and the design has a built-in anti-sway feature.

I would as it is cheap insurance to reduce sway.  We have towed our 177 for 15+ years and over 53,000 miles under all sorts of road and weather conditions and credit a lot of safe driving to having that sway/friction bar attached.  Tow vehicles have included an '08 and '13 front wheel drive Explorers for 8 years and an '11 and '17 F-150 for the past 7.  Total loaded weight of our 177 with 36 gallons of water (tank behind axle) is 2940# and ideally you want 11% or more of the total weight on the tongue.  In our case the tongue weight is 340, so more than enough to eliminate trailer sway.  Also, the front is about 1.5" lower in front.
