I knew they had to be somewhere but wasn't sure. BTW, all I did to get good access was remove the screws holding the front half of the plywood under the bed, and then lift it and the mattress up for the 30 seconds it took to open/close the three valves. Didn't put the screws back in as the mattress more than holds the plywood in place.

Rod G.

This looks consistent on both side but the door size is harder to eye ball due to the door itself. Yes, I blew a tire which took out the axle so Blue Compass RV in Prescott, AZ recently installed but "did not notice" the slider sag. Lastly, has anyone welded the outriggers as compared to drill and tap?

Thanks for your input.

IF you are a contortionist you can access the 3 valves that will open the water line to the water heater. Easier IMHO to remove the luan panel above the water heater and turn the 3 valves opposite to their current location 1/4 turn. While at it, cut a hole directly above the water heater (mine measures 5" x 7") so the next time you winterize/dewinterize you can simply lift the mattress and gain easy access to those valves.

Edited by jato - 29 Jun 2026 at 7:51pm

During de-winterization which was done by the previous owner, I was working on getting the water system flushed and sanitized. Everything was going well until I tried to get water into and out of the water heater. Is htere a water heater bypass valve somewhere? I haven't been able to find it. Any help will be appreciated!

I need HELP!!! : Roof Vent replacement questions

    Author: texastreehugger
Subject: Roof Vent replacement questions
Posted: 27 Jun 2026 at 8:49pm

So I noticed our maxxaire II vent cover was missing a big chunk and one of the hold downs was broken off. I ordered another from etrailer, but when I got it, it is 2 inches narrower than the original. It would fit, but I would have to remove the old brackets which are screwed into the roof and install new brackets. The new instructions say to screw the brackets into the vertical vent flange (not the roof). There is a whole lot of caulk covering the brackets so I'm wondering what is underneath and if maybe the old brackets weren't installed correctly and someone just plastered it to protect against roof leaks. I'm about to go on a trip, so I think I may just do without the cover for now, and try to install the new brackets when I have time to recaulk. If anyone is familiar with what the vent surround should look like, I'd appreciate any feedback or advice. I'll attach a pic.

Edited by texastreehugger - 27 Jun 2026 at 9:13pm
